History
Hotel Villa Fortuna was established in 1990 and is currently a two star hotel in Atina, Ciociaria region. The hotel was built by Fortuna Fortunato (a.k.a. Tutuccio), a native of Atina who was a WWII prisoner and survivor, as well as a semi-professional soccer player for the city of Atina. Fortunato married Benedetta Di Duca (a.k.a. Adelfa); also a native of Atina. The family ties to the area are strong which is why this hotel is recognized by many in the region. Fortunato passed the business down to his son and daughter, Marcello and Erina, who now own and operate the business. Marcello and his wife Christiane have three daughters (Angela, Gabriella, and Oriana) who grew up in Atina and have worked in the family business for many years. Erina and her husband John have two sons (Lucas and Stefan) who also assist with the family business.
Hotel Villa Fortuna e' stato stabilito in 1990 ed e' un albergo a due stelle in Atina, nella regione della Ciociaria. L'Hotel e' stato costruito da Fortuna Fortunato (per gli amici, Tutuccio), nato ad Atina ed un sopravvissuto e prigioniero nella seconda guerra mondiale, e anche un giocatore semi-professionale di calcio per il paese di Atina. Fortunato e' sposato con Benedetta Di Duca (per gli amici, Adelfa) anche nata ad Atina. La famiglia e' molto conosciuta nella zona, ecco perche' Villa Fortuna riconosciuta da molti nella zona. I figli di Fortunato, Marcello ed Erina, amministrano l'albergo. Marcello e la moglie Christiane hanno tre figlie (Angela, Gabriella, ed Oriana) che sono cresciute in Atina e aiutano nel business di famiglia. Erina e il marito John hanno due figli (Lucas e Stefan) e anche loro fanno parte del business di famiglia.

The primary local attraction is the Abbey of Monte Cassino. It is situated on a hill just south of Hotel Villa Fortuna above Cassino. As well as its physical beauty, the site is of spiritual importance for Christians the world-over: it is one of the few remaining territorial Abbeys within the Catholic Church. It was also the site of the infamous Battle o Monte Cassino in 1944.
